Three lovely new things to show you – original new work ready to find a new home. A winter Snowdrop, a summer Poppy and a cut paper Valentine. Read on to see images and find out more about them here…
This new poppy sculpture Specimen Papaver Somniferum has been along time coming. It was inspired by one of many that had blown into a garden I designed last year. I was leaving alot of the grass to grow long and there it grew itself last summer. I have been waiting to make it ever since and it is just now finished..I took some some time finding the right colour bank notes to echo the pinky lavender of it petals and soft greeny grey blue of the leaves.
This time of year the Snowdrops are out and I was inspired by the make this small New Years collage-drawing of paper and metal leaf of some pressed snowdrops, and a little pressed daisy hanging on in the chill..
Lastly, I recently unearthed a number of works in my archive including this one, “Song”, a cupt paper piece that I found hidden away unframed in a folder, and was one of a series I made for The Conran Shop back in circa 2000. The play of changing light and shadow is one of the key aspects of these pieces, where over the course of a day it makes them different every time you look. Email me for more details.
