Just six weeks until In Bloom’: How Plants Changed Our World, a major exhibition exploring our changing relationship with the natural world opens at The Ashmolean, Britains oldest Museum. This exhibition will be exploring our changing relationship with the natural world. Having previously had my “Bigger Bang” map shown in the Money Talks: Art, Money and Power exhibition last year, I am delighted that my plant sculptures will now take the spotlight.
The Nature Series has become a central theme of my artistic practice. The works contain ideas around Natural Capital – that all our wealth comes from the earth. The idea that just as banknote can be seen to represent an individual or state, so can plants be used as metaphors to express particular ideas around the transience of life and power, and changing ecologies and geopolitics.
Over the coming weeks I‘ll be sharing images and insights into the ideas behind the works on Instagram so please do follow me and share with anyone else who maybe interested. Tickets on sale now!
