29th September 2009 will be the opening date of the Crosby Street Hotel, New York. I was commissioned by Firmdale Hotels last year to produce “Street” a (nearly 2 metre long) wall mounted lettering sculpture, faced with different UK, US, Japanese and Euro coins, specifically for the hotel. It will be displayed alongside 6 of Sir Peter Blakes’ recent Alphabet print series that will make the word “Crosby”, and the whole thing will be on public display for the first time. In addition there will also be 3 new dog sculptures at the hotel that were also specially commissioned.
