From this Thursday Paul Smith will host a special exhibition at his London flagship shop featuring exclusive artworks, objects and curiosities created by his favourite artists and designers. I am delighted to be taking part in the show and will have several new works exhibited, not least “ Wellington” made especially for this exhibition. This is the most recent in my currency dog sculpture series. The coat is made of D series £5 pound notes, and images from the Battle of Waterloo can be seen in the ears of the sculpture. In time, I am hoping to make this Wellington one of a pair of Wellingtons, by using the reverse side of the same note, which in addition to the battle scenes also depict Arthur Wellesley, The Duke of Wellington. This new exhibition will take place throughout No. 9 Albemarle Street and runs for the rest of the month. Exclusive works and objects on display will include pieces from friends and regular collaborators who have worked with Paul and exhibited in Paul Smith shops for many years.
